Delicious Majdool cheese from Aida’s Bistro

A friend introduced me to the delightful (albeit tiny) Aida’s Bistro in Calgary’s Mission district a while back, and I got there with my friend for dinner when our first choice was packed to the gills and was not going to be conducive to good conversation.

On my first visit, a friend and I shared the Veggie Mezza (she’s a vegetarian) but this time I was with a different friend so we shared the Seafood Mezza which has Hummus or Baba, Squid, Prawns, Feta and Majdool cheese, Fatayer, Grape Leaves, and Falafel. (We went with the Hummus and then she ordered a dish of Mouhammara – which I really need to find a recipe for because it was amazing!)

Also super tasty was the Majdool cheese, and the squid was great too. The falafel was a bit dry – as it usually is mind you, and I wasn’t super psyched about the Fatayer – also really dry.

So.. I know what I definitely want to learn how to make – and what I’ll order when I go again.
