Delicious meringue Skor cake at the café

My last post included the meringue cake from  the café at the Iceland National Museum – and although the cake was perhaps the most memorable part of the meal, it certainly wasn’t all we enjoyed. In keeping with my other posts from food in Iceland, I wanted to share with you a quick post about some of the other things we enjoyed there.

We didn’t quite know what we wanted, but ended up both ordering the same thing once we decided – a spinach and cheese quiche topped off with roasted red pepper jelly, and a side salad. The salad was simple – just lettuce, tomato, and cucumber, but then the server asked if we’d like “feta and olive” with it – which of course we said “yes!” to – and the addition was fantastic. I do love olives and feta cheese!

To cut how sweet the cake was, we were glad to have coffee too – Swiss Mocha for my companion, and a Latté for me.
