Tea: Iced Blue Mango

After writing about Blue Mango tea the other day, I was keen to try this tea iced.  Unfortunately, despite thinking that it would be lovely iced, and reading about it being really good iced from another blogger – I have to say that this is NOT a tea that I’ll drink iced again.

What I really like about Blue Mango is that it tastes more floral and fruity, rather than like a green tea.  As I’ve mentioned before, I’m really not a big fan of green teas (compared to black, red, or herbal) so this was a great way to have green tea, without having that strong bitter taste I normally associate with (even well-brewed) green teas.

However, I found that by drinking it chilled, most of the fruity and floral flavors that I had come to enjoy in Blue Mango hot – were overwhelmed by the taste of the green tea.  I ended up adding a LOT of sugar to this tea to make it drinkable cold – something I don’t really like doing.

So, ultimately I won’t be doing this again – but apparently the writer who blogs at Culinary Teas thinks that the tea is great iced – if you’ve tried it, let me know in the comments below what you think!

(Sorry, I finished off all of the Blue Mango before photographing it, so no photos!)
