Chatting with a few fellow tea lovers, I’ve heard good things about a shop in Southcentre mall; David’s Tea. This is another chain apparently, like Teaopia, but with locations across Canada including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC. Here in Calgary though, there’s only one location, and I rarely get to Southcentre Mall.
But, with clever names like Read my lips (a black China tea with chocolate, vanilla and peppermint), Fantasy Island (organic black with coconut and raspberry) and Papayarama (wild honeybush with papaya and lime) I have to remember to put David’s Tea on my ‘must-see’ list.
Other cool features – there are three teas on their website named after wines – Champagne, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Marsala, which they suggest pairing with different foods. I think it would be awesome to do a tea party with teas like these and different foods just like people do with wine! Oh, and did I mention that they also carry an unoxidized green rooibos? I have yet to try this kind of tea, but apparently it’s more time/effort-consuming to produce, and thus more rare, but results in tea even higher in antioxidants.
If I don’t get to the store though, they offer free shipping on orders over $50, and three free samples with every online order.
I really do need more tea storage!
